Downtown Fulton Gets Makeover
"It's certainly a positive for those on Nichols street here," Chamber of Commerce member Nancy Lewis said. "This is the start of the downtown changing to the better"
Garry Vaught owns Beks restaurant, and said "completely changing the back street parking lot" and its infrastructure could make downtown Fulton a lot prettier.
Improvements include new power lines, sewer lines, and telephone lines.
"It just makes me proud to know we're a city that's really looking at all parts of our town," Vaught said.
The plan costs more than a quarter million dollars. New pipes will replace some pipes older than a century.
Fulton's newly-elected mayor Charlie Latham said he's glad the city is now paying closer attention to downtown area improvements.
