JEFFERSON CITY - One driver died Saturday morning after losing control of his truck on an ice-covered road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

About 6:30 a.m. Billy Robinett of Jefferson City was traveling eastbound on US 54 when he lost control of his 2002 Ford F-250. He went off the right side of the road at Hammann Road, fell down a steep embankment and overturned.

An ambulance took Robinett to Capital Region Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Robinett was 58 years old and was wearing a seatbelt.

According to the Highway Patrol, this is Troop F's fifth fatality of 2014 and first for February.
