COLUMBIA - 22 people were arrested in the second phase of a narcotics round-up, the Mid-Missouri Unified Strike Team and Narcotics Group, or M.U.S.T.A.N.G., announced Thursday.
Suspects were arrested Wednesday for distribution of controlled substances including heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pills.
Tuesday, the M.U.S.T.A.N.G. Drug Task Force, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cole County Sheriff's Department, Jefferson City Police Department and the Columbia Police Department rounded up 20 individuals suspected of similar crimes.
Arrests from the two raids include residents of Jefferson City, Fulton, Portland, Holts Summit and Columbia.
The arrests are the result of a lengthy undercover investigation by M.U.S.T.A.N.G. and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.
In the last two months, M.U.S.T.A.N.G. has conducted 10 smaller-scale narcotic search warrants resulting in the arrests of 13 additional individuals in Cole and Callaway counties, bringing the total number of arrested individuals to 55.
