Dual Polarized Radar Helping Officials Spot Tornadoes
BRANSON - A new dual polar radar is helping meteorologists identify tornado damage before emergency responders. The new technology sends out a second wave to identify if a tornado has touched down. Previous technology could only identify funnel clouds and damage could not be confirmed until emergency responders went out.
The Midwest received a flurry of tornadoes two weeks ago causing extensive damage in Branson.
Meteorologists remind people when tornadoes are spotted to take cover as quickly as possible and do not go outside looking for them.
