Research at Baylor University indicates elderly people could boost their immunity by getting stronger doses of flu vaccine. Patients with stronger doses had higher concentrations of anti-flu antibodies in their blood a month after getting a shot.

Researchers studied 2,000 men and women older than 65 with no signs of dementia at the start of the study. Those who had poor balance, a weak grip, and trouble walking were more likely to develop dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
Vitamin D helps build strong bones, and it could also help boost lung capacity. A Harvard study found teenagers with less than the daily minimum of the vitamin had less lung power than teens who had more than the minimum.
