Emergency rooms have been swamped with people who rely on electricity for oxygen and kidney treatments. Saint Louis University Hospital said the volume of patients in the emergency room grew 10-15% more than usual since last Wednesday night. More than 200,000 homes and businesses were still without power Tuesday since last week's storms. Four deaths in the region have been blamed on the storms or heat. Barnes-Jewish Hospital treated 200 more patients than on an average weekend. About 50 people came in seeking electricity for their routine medical treatments.
