Energy Saving Tips
Energy experts say that by doing a good assessment and weatherizing the home you can save up to $350 a year. It could be as simple as using an Energy Saver light bulb, stopping a leaking toilet and using caulk around the windows and doors to prevent heat from escaping.
"I installed a programmable thermostat, I caulked some areas that I could caulk. I bought a couple energy efficient appliances when I needed to replace my appliances and I keep my heat way down," area resident Carol Klebofski said.
Central Missouri Community Action put on a workshop to inform mid-Missousians about the benefits of reducing energy. CMCA gave away one hundred energy and water conservation kits. It hopes that it will inspire others to save energy.
