Everybody Eats Kicks Off
The volunteers have a tall order to fill by Thanksgiving day.
"The other day we did about 300, 300 already. So, we have about another 400. I think we gonna be able to go above that," Crayton said.
Feeding over 700 families around the holidays takes a lot of work and effort, but when donations come in like canned vegetables or canned fruit, it helps ease the burden.
"This is based on what people donate. You know we don't receive any government money or grants," Crayton said.
For those who didn't get a Thanksgiving basket, there is still an opportunity to get a meal. On Thursday Crayton will host a Thanksgiving lunch for those who don't have anywhere else to go. Crayton said she still needs volunteers to help cook and serve on Thursday as well as more food for additional baskets.
