FAA Notifies Columbia Regional Airport of Air Traffic Control Tower Closure Date
COLUMBIA - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) this afternoon notified airport manager Don Elliott that the Air Traffic Control Tower at Columbia Regional Airport would be unfunded as of May 5.
The Columbia tower is one of 149 air traffic control towers across the United States being unfunded between April 7 and May 5.
Unless funding is restored, it is expected that the Columbia Tower will cease operations on or about May 5.
The Columbia City website has a complete list of towers which will be unfunded and the date funding will cease.
