Farm Service Agency Offers Disaster Loans
COLUMBIA - The Farm Service Agency has disaster loans available for farmers who experienced physical and production losses due to the severe blizzard conditions in early February Edward Hamill, state executive director, said in a news release.
For a farmer to qualify for the loan they must have suffered a loss essential to the operation of the farm. The loans given for these losses have to be used to replace or repair damage to buildings and fences, or to help compensate the loss of livestock, stored crops, supplies and equipment according to Hamill.
Applications for this assistance are being accepted through Nov. 16, 2011 at the county office of the Farm Service Agency at 601 Business Loop 70 W. Suite 213 E., Columbia.
