Victim Wrestles Gun Away from Suspect in Domestic Dispute
COLUMBIA - Authorities arrested Jonathan B. Faucett Wednesday after they received a report Tuesday from a victim who said he wrestled a gun away from Faucett in a domestic dispute in early June.
Columbia Police arrested Jonathan B. Faucett for armed criminal action, second-degree domestic assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police reports said Faucett and his male roommate got into an argument June 10 about a guest visiting their residence in the 1600 block of Amelia Street. The victim reported Faucett went to his bedroom to get a handgun, then stood in his doorway and told the victim he was going to go "homicidal".
The victim said the gun was pointed at him about eight times, but he was able to wrestle the gun away from Faucett and disassemble it. Reports said Faucett then got a second gun from his room and fired one shot into the floor. The victim got out of the apartment and left the area.
Officers located a hole in the carpet where the victim said a bullet struck. They also found drug paraphernalia in Faucett's room while serving a search warrant.
