Fenton aldermen OK redevelopment plan for Chrysler site
FENTON (AP) - Officials in the St. Louis County town of Fenton have given approval to a new project at the site of the old Chrysler plant.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports aldermen approved the first phase Thursday of a $500 million development called Fenton Logistics Park.
Plans call for redeveloping 49.3 acres of the site where Chrysler built vehicles until the plant closed in 2009.
Construction would begin this summer. All told, the development involves five phases, with the site suitable for light manufacturing, distribution centers and office space.
