Finger Lakes State Park Opens New Trail
BOONE COUNTY- Missouri State Parks cut the ribbon on a new trail at Finger Lakes State Park on Friday.
The Kelly Branch Mountain Bike Trail is a 2.75 mile loop or bikers and hikers can use a short cut to make it 1.5 miles.
Director of Missouri State Parks Bill Bryan gave much of the trail's credit to the State Parks Youth Corps. Governor Nixon established the group as a jobs program for Missouri youth. Members of the Osage Region Trail Association also helped complete the trail. Several members attended the ribbon cutting, and to take a spin on the new trail.
Finger Lakes State Park also provides trails for motocross riders, ATV riders and other ORV riders along with space for camping and fishing.
