Fire damages Columbia home
COLUMBIA - A home in Columbia was damaged Saturday after a bedroom caught fire.
Fire crews were called to the fire at 219 Sarazen Court a little before 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon, according to Assistant Boone County Fire Chief Gale Blomenkamp.
There were three people in the home at the time, but all were able to get out safely, Blomenkamp said.
He said the bedroom that the fire started in has moderate damage, and the rest of the home suffered smoke damage.
He said crews were able to quickly fight the flames, "We had the fire knocked down within minutes of our arrival."
