COLUMBIA - Clouds and defensive linemen loomed Friday night as mid-Missouri teams took the field for week five of the football season. See scores.

Two Columbia teams battled it out in this week's Game of the Week. The Hickman Kewpies defended their home turf against the Rock Bridge Bruins in the 2015 Providence Bowl. After a close game, Rock Bridge shut out Hickman 22 to 0.

Battle High School and Helias fought it out in a nail-biter, keeping the score within a touchdown all game. Helias lost to the Spartans by one point in the last quarter with a score of 28-27.

Seven other games ended Friday night in a shut out. Two of those games were called at halftime due to bad weather; Marceline won 44 to 0 against Salisbury, Fayette shut out Slater 36 to 0.

The Jefferson City Jays and Smith-Cotton Tigers had huge comebacks. Jefferson City upset Rogers from Arkansas 20 to 24 in the last quarter. Smith-Cotton also came from behind after a weather delay to defeat Nevada 16 to 13.

Fans crowded the stands dressed for a rainy night of hometown football. Harrisburg, MMA and Cole Camp all postponed their games. Harrisburg and MMA scheduled their respective games for Saturday. Cole Camp is set to play Sherwood on Monday.

Tweet your game photos next week to @komunews or @komusports. Friday Night Fever is now on Snapchat too. Add KOMU_FNF to follow tonight's action between Rock Bridge and Hickman.

This live blog includes scores and photos from across mid-Missouri.
