Former CPS classroom aide sentenced to probation for inappropriate contact
COLUMBIA - A former classroom aide at Oakland Middle School was sentenced for fourth-degree assault Thursday after pleading guilty to an incident that happened in 2017.
Thomas Harrell Edwards pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor, and was given two years probation in lieu of jail time.
The Columbia Missourian reports Thomas Harrell Edwards was accused of touching a student with a physical disability. The victim was 11 years old at the time.
According to court documents, Edwards put his hand under the victim's clothing and touched her buttocks.
