Former Granby wastewater operator indicted for false reports
GRANBY (AP) - A former wastewater treatment plant operator accused of submitting false reports in violation of the Clean Water Act has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
The Joplin Globe reported the Environmental Protection Agency seized documents in February as part of investigation into whether the city of Granby falsified wastewater data.
Federal authorities said 48-year-old Charles Loren Ranslow of Neosho was charged with two counts of making false and fraudulent statements in discharge monitoring reports submitted to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
According to an affidavit, solids reports from April 2012 to October 2014 and ammonia reports for June 2013 and March 2014 contained false information. Oil and grease reports for March 2014 were cited as well.
