Former Mizzou Players Sign Free Agent NFL Deals
COLUMBIA -- The Missouri football team will see some more former players head to the NFL. Following the conclusion of the 2012 NFL Draft, Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel tweeted that eight more players have signed free agent deals.
Wide receiver Wes Kemp has signed with the Carolina Panthers, defensive end Jacquies Smith will join teammate Michael Egnew, who was drafted in the third round, in Miami and wide receiver Jerrell Jackson will stay home in Houston to join the Texans. Missouri long snapper Beau Brinkley agreed to a deal with the Tennessee Titans while defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton will join the Oakland Raiders. Defensive tackle and former Jefferson City Jay Terrell Resonno will head north to be with the Minnesota Vikings, offensive lineman Austin Wuebbels reached a free agent agreement with the Denver Broncos and kicker Grant Ressel is heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Unlike drafted players, free agent players only have to sign a three-year contract and not four.
