Former St. Louis officer pleads guilty
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A former St. Louis police officer has pleaded guilty to federal charges for providing a shotgun to drug dealers.
Sentencing for 28-year-old Don McGhee will be July 14. He pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to possess a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
Federal prosecutors say McGhee knew people who distributed crack cocaine and marijuana. He gave a drug dealer a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun in March 2014, knowing the person would use it in relation to drug trafficking.
McGhee was named last month in a one-count indictment. At that time, Police Chief Sam Dotson issued a statement, accusing McGhee of betraying the public's trust.
