Freshmen Whitewash the "M"
Every year, the freshman class cleans up the large "M" on the north side of Faurot Field. Then they whitewash the rocks to get them ready for the Tigers' first home game of the season. Organizers lure the students by the chance to participate in tradition.
"I'm just walking around, looking for weeds, I'm not into moving the rocks as much but I'll do the easy stuff," freshman Kasey Holdinghousen said.
Freshman Danny Keating also helped by stacking rocks.
"I'm going to help stack the rocks, I have no problem with doing that, everyone else can pick up the weeds and paint. I'll bear the brunt," Keating said.
After cleaning and moving the rocks, the freshmen paint them. About 150 freshmen participated this year.
