JEFFERSON CITY - Women of mid-Missouri gathered together on Saturday night dressed in their best cowgirl attire hoping to raise money for one organization that helps women in need.

"Dreams to Reality" hosted its fourth annual "Dreams to Reality" fundraiser with this year's theme being "Cowgirl Up." The organization raises money for women who are not able to obtain jobs because they cannot afford the proper attire to find work.

Organization president, Lois Bax, said tonight's event means a lot more than just raising money. She said it's about helping women on a deeper level as well.

"We try to find whatever they need to make it through a job so that when their self-esteem goes up, they feel better going into the job interview and they actually look better, which helps them along the way as well."

Bax also said this event is expected to raise more than $13,000 dollars. In the past, before "Dreams to Reality" started hosting fundraiser nights, the organization's members had to reach into their own pockets to help donate to their cause.

This is "Dreams to Reality's" tenth year helping women, and all of the proceeds that are raised will go directly to the women in need.
