Governor's Plane Makes Emergency Landing
Blunt's press secretary told KOMU the plane had trouble with its landing gear when it was attempting to land in Kirksville. The pilot diverted the plane to Columbia Regional and was able to land around 12:30 Friday afternoon.
The Associate Press says the pilot made a fly-over to make sure the landing gear was down.
The group plans to try and charter another plane to continue his across-state trip to promote his "Our Students First" education initiative. Along with an event at the Kirksville airport, he was also planning to go to Hannibal and Cape Girardeau.
KOMU is on the scene at Columbia Regional Airport and will bring more details on KOMU News at 5 and 6.
