Groundbreaking Ceremony to Celebrate New High School
The funding for construction of the school was provided by the community's passage of a no-tax increase bond issues in April 2007 and 2010. A committee of community members, parents and school district staff worked with the architecture firm DLR Group in conjunction with Simon Oswald Associates and Engineering Surveys and Services to design the approximately 300,000 square foot building.
The design includes numerous environmentally friendly features and will have a capacity to hold 1,800 to 2,000 students. The administration areas, gymnasium, physical education space, auditorium, media center and commons areas are organized to provide maximum flexibility, convenience and comfort for staff and students.
Academic classrooms are located throughout the building to best meet the needs of the program, teachers and students. Shared public spaces such as the gym, auditorium, media center and commons area are designed to be easily accessible by community members and district patrons.
