JEFFERSON CITY - Crowds walked and ran on Friday night for the Community Breast Care Project. The Elks Lodge 513 Auxiliary sponsored the twilight walk on the capitol's grounds in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.

The proceeds from the evening went to the community breast cancer project.

The American Cancer society estimates nearly 227,000 men and women have been diagnosed with breast cancer since the beginning of 2012.
