Head-on Collision Leaves Two Hospitalized
CAMDEN COUNTY - A two-car collision Wednesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital with moderate injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said an 18-year-old driver from Linn Creek was traveling westbound on Route Y in Camden County. The patrol said the driver was going too fast for road conditions when his Chevrolet Cavalier veered over the center line a stuck another vehicle head-on.
Both the 51-year-old female, who was operating a Ford Escape, and the driver were transported by ambulance to St. John's Lake Regional Hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The offender was charged with failure to drive on the right side of the road. Route Y was closed for two hours due to the collision.
The patrol has not yet released the names of the driver or the other victim.
