COLUMBIA - The historic Guitar Mansion on Oakland Gravel Road sold Monday morning for $155,500 at auction. The buyer was a Columbia woman who asked for anonymity. The new owner said she plans to refurbish the home and perhaps move in.

Like many Columbia residents in attendence, the new owner's main concern was making sure it didn't go to someone who would destroy the 150-year-old mansion. Bidding on the property began at 10:30 am Monday and by 11:30 the house had a new owner.

Parts of the mansion were built as early as 1830, but the home seen today was built in 1860 for original owner David Guitar.
