Historic urn missing from Hickman High School
COLUMBIA - An urn that has sat outside of Hickman High School for nearly a century is missing.
Hickman High School officials are not sure where the urn is or why it would have been taken.
They are also unsure of when it disappeared because they just noticed it missing this past week.
Hickman High School grad Charley Blackmore said he's not sure why someone would steal the urn.
"To take this urn, what use would it be to someone else, other than knowing that they stole it from property of Hickman High School," Blackmore said.
Blackmore is looking for fellow Hickman grads who can help find a new urn, make a new urn or help pay for a new urn.
An exact replica of the original urn would cost $4,000.
"We're trying to see if we can find someone who has some loyalty to Hickman High School that knows something about making these urns or knows the whereabouts of one we could get to match this one closely enough to put it out here," Blackmore said.
Blackmore said if anyone can help they can reach out to him kewpie.net.
