Holiday Travelers Drive Home
An overturned horse trailer on the Missouri River bridge caused several hours of delay for holiday travelers on Interstate 70.
Traffic problems seem to worsen during the holidays because there is more traffic on the roads.
Columbia police say so far they have not seen an increase in the number of traffic tickets this holiday season.
Police emphasize knowing your route and being patient when driving to ensure safe travel this holiday season.
"Realize that even though you are going your same route, there's a lot more traffic out there," said Sgt. Barbara Buck Columbia Police. "So traffic may become congested in areas that you are not expecting, so be aware that traffic can suddenly slow down."
Columbia police remind drivers to-obey traffic laws, use traffic signals, and maintain a safe speed and distance from the car in front of you.
