The Homecoming Steering Committee was up even earlier getting ready for the big deal.
"We got here at about 3:30 this morning," said parade organizer Ryan Murdock. "This year's route goes through more of downtown Columbia and we thought it would be a good way to give back to the community."
"Last year we got here a little late so this year we have a pretty good float so we got here early," said parade participant Matt Kinmore.
The Grand Marshall, football hall of fame member Roger Wehrli, was on hand to kick off the parade.
"It's been a great year for me with the Hall of Fame and coming back to Mizzou makes it a full circle," Wehrli said.
Organizers said about 140 floats were in the parade.
