Homicide suspect dies after standoff with police
MCCALL (AP) - A man charged with first-degree murder was found dead inside a home after he apparently killed himself during a standoff with law enforcement officers.
Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright says 50-year-old David Call of Kansas City died Monday night inside a home near the Gentry County town of McFall.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports Call was charged earlier Monday with first-degree murder and other counts after a body was found inside a burning home in Trenton Sunday night. Few details have been released and the victim has not been identified.
Police say Call opened fire on officers from inside the home when they arrived to arrest him. They lost contact with Call after about four hours of negotiations and later found him dead.
