COLUMBIA - The Down Under Horsemanship Clinic ended on its third day Sunday at the Central Missouri Events Center, formerly known as the Boone County Fairgrounds.

The clinic's main purpose was to instruct horse fans to control and train local horses that had not yet been fully domesticated. Clinician Dale Cunningham said that the horses had not been cooperative up until this point.

"They have been ridden, but they're not very respectful. They're very pushy, people have problems with them, they're kicking out, they really don't load in trailers well and they have lots of issues," said Cunningham.

Cunningham also said that the horses were still very unruly the first day, but were completely transformed by the third day. He said it is all thanks to a very specific process.

"This process is trying to get the horses' respect and under control, and its all around safety. So these people with these horses will have a lot better control and respect for these horses when this process is over," Cunningham said.

Cunningham takes his clinic around the country 270 days out of the year. The Down Under Horse Clinic is associated with Clinton Anderson and his brand. Cunningham's clinic will relocate to Michigan next week.
