ST. LOUIS (AP) - A memorial service will be held Saturday for former federal judge and Missouri congressman William Hungate. He died last Friday at age 84. The Democrat represented Missouri's Ninth District from 1964 to 1977. Hungate introduced an article of impeachment against President Richard Nixon. He chaired a subcommittee that investigated the pardon of Nixon by his successor, President Gerald Ford. He also played a key role as a federal judge in the court case to desegregate the St. Louis public schools. The service is at 2p.m. at Salem in Ladue United Methodist Church in suburban St. Louis. He is survived by his wife, two children and four grandchildren.
