MIAMI (AP) -- Forecasters say Hurricane Irene has slowed down ever so slightly as it moves toward the southeastern North Carolina
coast. It has sustained winds of 100 mph. It's still on track to bring hurricane force winds all the way up the East Coast and likely New York City over the weekend. New York's public transportation system and airports will close Saturday.
