"I'm a little harder on my own kids when it comes with the other kids, and you're talking about a father-son relationship, said Todd. "I still try and humble him once in a while, but I can't let them think they can hit me over the ballpark."
Jerremy added, "He expects a lot out of me and I expect a lot out of myself and strive for better things."
Another former Cards' pitcher, Andy Benes, has a son who plays third base for Westminster Christian Academy.
"We were all playing on the indoor soccer [team]," said Andy, "and since then I'm just trying to sit back and not be his coach."
Westminster Christian Academy competed in the state semi-finals last weekend at Columbia's Taylor Stadium, but lost Friday to Webb City and then dropped the third-place game Saturday to Sullivan.
