SEDALIA, MO - The Jefferson City Jays ousted the Smith-Cotton Tigers 8-5 Monday night.

After renaiming the field "Dey Field," in honor of the Dey family and their contributions to the Tiger baseball team, Smith-Cotton recognized its seniors on Senior Day.

Jefferson City got out to a quick lead in the first inning thanks to a solo homerun Michael Washington.

In the third inning, the Jays kept up with the long ball when Rob Vernon hit a homer off the scoreboard in center field making the score 4-0.

The home-team Tigers could not erase the deficit on their last home game of the season.
