JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City Police Department said Tuesday it arrested three people in two different drug busts last week.

Jefferson City Police Captain Doug Shoemaker said JCPD's SWAT team and MUSTANG Drug Task Force arrested Jordon White and D'Angelo Williams in the 300 block of Buchanan Street after finding cocaine, scales, packaging materials, a 9mm handgun and several types of ammunition on Oct. 30.

Shoemaker said police arrested and charged White with a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police arrested Williams for an outstanding probation absconder warrant out of Cole County.

In a separate incident, Shoemaker said JCPD's Community Action Team and MUSTANG arrested Leroy Childs in the 200 block of North Ventura Drive on Oct. 31 after finding marijuana, scales, packaging materials, ammunition and a stolen .38 caliber handgun.

Shoemaker said police arrested and charged Childs with a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shoemaker said both drug busts were part of an ongoing investigation into area narcotics activity.
