Jefferson City Finalizes Deal for Packaging Plant
JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce announced Monday it has worked out a deal to bring a plastic packaging plant to the area.
The chamber said Morris Converting LLC has purchased a 9.16 acrea area inside the Partnership Business Park, which is owned and developed by the chamber. Last month, the company worked with the city and Cole County to finalize plans to bring infrastructure to the site.
The Illinois-based company intends to build a 30,000 square foot facility and create more than 20 jobs to manufacture plastic packaging for the food industry.
