Jefferson City Police Make Arrest in Monday Disturbance
JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City Police arrested 18-year-old Brandon Christopher for unlawful use of a weapon Monday night. Police officers were first dispatched to the 1400 block of West McCarty for a disturbance call around 8 p.m. According to the caller, a family dispute led to Christopher pointing a firearm at the female he was arguing with.
According to Captain Doug Shoemaker, officers found Christopher's car heading north on Highway 63 toward Columbia. Jefferson City police along with Boone County Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Ashland Police Department, stopped Christopher during a felony traffic stop on Highway 63 near Ashland.
Authorities took Christopher into custody and took a BB pistol found in his car that was used in the disturbance. A 20-year-old female passenger, who was also present during the disturbance, was arrested for hindering prosecution, but later authorities released her with no charges.
