Jefferson City Sales Tax on Ballot
Residents would pay for half the tax, with visitors paying the other half.
"It's an opportunity for city voters to create a tax that non-city people pay," said former mayor Duane Schreimann. "And, obviously, we think it's fair because a lot of non-city people are users of city services and city streets."
Residents vote on the Capital Improvement Sales Tax every five years. The sales tax has paid for construction of Highway 179 and walking trails in the past.
