Jefferson City to Host Rival Rockhurst Under the Lights
JEFFERSON CITY - High School Football features two of the best teams in the state on Friday night. Number one Rockhurst visits third ranked Jefferson City.
The Rivalry has a long history but it's leaning heavy to the Rockhurst side lately. In fact Jeff City hasn't beaten Rockhurst since 1999 during the regular season. The Jays lost to Rockhurst in the playoffs that year. The first of 13 straight losses to Rockhurt.
At this point in time it's 2011," said Ted Lepage, Jefferson City football coach. "We're the 2011 Jays playing the 2011 Hawklets. Doesn't matter how many years...it's a 100 years they've been playing. There's not gonna be somebody 100 years out there playing. So its gonna be the guys of this year versus the guys of Rockhurst this year."
