WARREN COUNTY - One woman died and eight others were injured after a massive pile-up in Warren County Wednesday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the nine-vehicle accident that occurred on I-70, near highway marker 194 which is about 66 miles east of Columbia.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Lynn R. Hebenheimer, 63, from Jefferson City died in the wreck. The MSHP crash report indicated a semi-truck crossed the centerline, overturned and collided with Hebenhiemer's Chrysler 300. Sgt. Scott Taylor from the Warren County Sheriff's Department announced Hebenheimer had died at 5:30 p.m., about an hour after the initial collision.

The crash report indicated the pileup started when the driver of a Jeep Liberty lost control of the SUV driving eastbound on I-70 around 4:30 p.m. The report cited weather conditions as the cause of her loss of control. That started a chain reaction involving the vehicles traveling both eastbound and westbound on the highway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the Jeep Liberty struck a second vehicle, a Ford Mustang, which then struck the semi which crossed the median and collided with Hebenheimer's car. The pileup included two additional semi-trucks and three cars.
