People came by the fair to meet and greet thirty prospective employers, fill out applications and hand in resumes. While this improvement affects job prospects for all ability levels, thoughts at the job fair seemed to circle around the elderly population. Susan Streit works with Experience Works, an organization that helps older people find jobs. She said the job fair opened up many opportunities for her elderly clients. "I've called several and had them apply today," Streit said, "I've met with some of the employers here and it's like 'come here, bring your resume. Start applying." Streit isn't the only one thinking of the elderly. Sen. Carl Vogel, R-Jefferson City was pleased with the senior citizen turn out at the event. "I'm encouraged by the fact that many of them are out here looking for jobs today," Vogel said, "I'm not too far away from that magic number and I'm sure I'll be in that same boat."
