JOHNSON COUNTY - The Rural Major Case Squad has identified the dead man found Wednesday morning near Dunksburg Bridge as Thomas Craig, 48, of Fulton.

Craig was last seen leaving Fulton at about midnight Tuesday.

Forty-two investigators from several agencies spent Thursday investigating more than 50 leads on the victim's identity in the case. Detectives are continuing to investigate leads on possible suspects in the killing.

A Lafayette County Sheriff's deputy found the man on northeast 1075th Rd. near Warrensburg. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the scene initially. The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad was activated and began investigation Thursday morning.
