COLUMBIA - Mizzou Basketball head coach Kim Anderson dismissed forward Torren Jones from the program for a violation of team rules Friday.

Coach Anderson made it clear that he expects all players to uphold their behavior off the court.

"I am disappointed in Torren's actions and want to be very clear about the culture of accountability we are building within our program," Anderson said. "It's a privilege to wear the University of Missouri uniform and we will represent our university and our state with great integrity."

Although Jones averaged only 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last season, his play picked up against SEC opponents. Jones grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds in a road victory at Auburn. Jones also tallied nine rebounds in a win over Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament despite playing just 12 minutes.

Jones was projected to be a key contributor to the Tigers in the 2014-15 campaign, especially after junior guards Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown entered the NBA Draft.

Jones, a sophomore from Arizona, was ranked among the top 100 players nationally in his high school class by 247Sports
