Judge Keeps Prosecutors on Mohler Witness List
LEXINGTON, Mo. (AP) - A Lafayette County judge has refused to remove the county prosecutor from a list of prospective witnesses in a case against one of five men accused of molesting young relatives decades ago.
Judge Dennis Rolf on Monday denied a request by prosecutor Kellie Wingate Campbell to strike her name and those of two assistants from a list of witnesses attorney Tim Larimore said he might call to the stand in the trial of Jared Mohler.
Mohler, his father and three brothers are accused of sexually abusing young relatives on a western Missouri farm in the mid-1980s. All have pleaded not guilty and await trial.
Campbell acknowledged sitting in on an investigatory meeting before the men were charged two years ago. She said that doesn't make her a witness.
