Kansas City mother charged in boy's fatal shooting
KANSAS CITY (AP) - A Kansas City mother has been charged with fatally shooting her 5-year-old son while arguing with her boyfriend.
Prosecutors announced Sunday that 23-year-old Lisa Marie Hall of Kansas City is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. It wasn't immediately known if she had an attorney.
Court documents say the child died Saturday morning after Hall and her boyfriend drank and argued. They initially told police that the shooting happened after an altercation with another person.
But the boyfriend later told authorities that the boy was standing next to him when Hall fired. A witness says Hall ran from a bedroom screaming, "My baby!" as she carried the wounded boy. The boyfriend told the witness, "It wasn't me. She pulled it on me."
