Kansas City Signs 6 Draft Picks as Practice Nears
ST JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs have signed six of their 2011 draft picks as the team prepares for its first day of practice.
Thursday's signings are headed by 6-foot-3, 288-pound defensive lineman Allen Bailey, one of the team's two third-round picks. Bailey played for the University of Miami last year.
Also signed were fourth-round selection Jalil Brown, a 6-1, 204-pound defensive back out of Colorado; Ricky Stanzi, a 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback from Iowa; and fellow fifth-round selection Gabe Miller, a 6-foot-3, 257-pound linebacker from Oregon State. The others were Jerrell Powe, a defensive lineman out of Mississippi who was picked in the sixth round, and seventh-round selection Shane Bannon, a fullback who played last year at Yale.
The Chiefs did not disclose terms of the contracts.
