KC Bishop Denies Wrongdoing
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph says he did nothing wrong in handling an investigation of child abuse allegations against a priest.
Bishop Robert Finn pleaded not guilty Friday to one misdemeanor count of failing to report suspected child abuse.
In a statement issued through the diocese, Finn denies any wrongdoing. He also says he had begun work to overhaul the diocese's reporting policies and to act on key findings of a diocese-commissioned investigation into its handling of the Rev. Shawn Ratigan.
The misdemeanor count charges Finn with failing to tell police about child pornography found on Ratigan's computer.
