KC Groups Says Blunt No Longer "Pro Life"
Missouri Right to Life says it no longer considers Governor Blunt "Pro-Life" because of his support for early stem cell research. Although Blunt has backed anti-abortion legislation, he opposed efforts earlier this year by Missouri Right to Life to ban a form a stem cell research known as therapeutic cloning. More recently, Blunt expressed his support for a proposed ballot initiative that specifically allows the procedure. Blunt is dismissing the criticism. Spokesman Spence Jackson says the governor has a deep commitment to defending the rights of the unborn and the delcaration that he is not "pro-life" is ridiculous.
