KC Man Sentenced to 30 Years For Second-Degree Murder
KANSAS CITY - A 32-year-old Kansas City man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a man in 2011.
The Jackson County prosecutor's office says in a release that Umar Muhammad was sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court.
A jury found him guilty in August of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 25-year-old Mohamed Hussein. Muhammad's sentence includes time for injuring another person in the same incident.
A jury found Muhammad guilty this summer and recommended those sentences, which were imposed Thursday by Judge Peggy Stephens McGraw.
